Introduction:Maharlou-Maharloo-Maharlu-Maharlo Lake (Persian: روستای مهارلو‎)

Maharlou Village

Maharlou Village is another famous village in the Fars province. This village is 40 km southeast of Shiraz.

This rural tourist attraction is bordered by Maharlou Lake on the north and mountains in the southwest.

With an altitude of 1,545 meters above sea-level, Maharlou Village has a moderate weather in spring and summer, but cold in winter.

The village has an ancient culture and history. Monuments such as Shah Abbas Caravanserai are proof of the fact that the formation of this village dates back to the Safavid Era.

Residents of Maharlou village speak Farsi with a special dialect and are Shiite Muslims. Most of them make a living from agriculture, animal husbandry and handicrafts.

Wheat, barley, tomato, melon and cucumber are the main crops of this village while fruits like pomegranate, fig and almond are also widely planted.

The residents also produce dairy products, meat and wool. The main handicraft made in the village is the hand-woven carpet.

Old houses, which have high roofs and curved windows, are made of stone and mortar and sometimes of adobe, clay and wood.

Today, the new buildings in Maharlou are built with materials such as stone, brick, cement blocks, iron and plaster.

2- Take a bus ticket to Shiraz(Distabce from Tehran to Shiraz is 931 Km )
3- Take a taxi from Shiraz to the Maharlo Lake (Distabce from Shiraz to Maharlo Lake is 40 Km )
