Introduction:Uremia Museum-Mozeh e Orumiyeh-Mozey e Urmia-Urumiah-Orumieh-Oromieh-Uremia (Persian: ارومیه‎ موزه )

Uremia Museum is the second largest museum of Iran in regards to its rich collection of historical and cultural items. It was built in 1967. It has a large hall in which historical items of different eras are put on display for the public, and a small hall which belongs to the museum of anthropology. In Uremia Museum, a collection of hand-written valuable books, the majority of which are Islamic books and volumes of Holy Qoran, are kept. Also items belonging to pre-historic, historic, and Islamic eras are kept in this museum.

The most ancient items of Uremia Museum belong to 7th Millennium BC. three hand-writings belonging to 1st Millennium BC are also kept in this museum. The newest items of this museum belong to Qajarid era.

The prehistoric section of Uremia Museum has displayed prehistoric items which have been unearthed throughout excavations of hills in the vicinity of this city and include items made of gunmetal and ceramic.
