Introduction: Qal’eh Kohneh (Persian: قلعه کهنه )

Qal’eh Kohneh

Another historical monument is Qal’eh Kohneh. The ceramic and gunmetal objects found in this castle prove that this historical monument belongs to the pre-Islamic era.

This castle is shaped as a trapezium and its walls are made of stone, plaster, limestone and sun-dried bricks.

An inscription written in the language of ancient Iran is situated 150 meters from this castle.

Experts believe that this inscription belongs to the years 309 to 379 AD, which are concurrent with the Sassanid Era.

3- Take a taxi to Qal’eh Kohneh.

One of the other historical monuments of the city of Meshkin Shahr is “Qal’eh Kohneh”. The ceramic and gunmetal objects found in this castle, prove that this historical monument belongs to the pre-Islamic era. This castle is in the shape of a trapezium and its walls are made of stone, plaster, limestone, and sun-dried bricks.

Hundred and fifty meters from this castle, there is an inscription which is written in the language of ancient Iran. Experts believe that this inscription belongs to the years 309 to 379 AD; which are concurrent to the Sassanid era.
